I was chatting with Leo yesterday afternoon; she is now working as a translator cum editor in Malaysia for EPH. She said her boss and colleagues are so stupid, as they are editing a children story book at the moment. She said the story is about Hansel and Gretel, but the pictures that the artist has provided are two male characters. Her boss asked her to change the names to suit the pictures as they have no time to change the pictures, changing names will be faster. Then Leo changed the names to Michael and Victor. I asked her why not change the name to Hansel and Handsome. Muahahaha…

Actually she refused to change the names as she said that the story is supposed to be Hansel and Gretel!!! Then the boss and some colleagues said that they have never heard of that story before! OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! Was that for real?? They never heard of that story?? I started to suspect whether they are human or did they ever read when they were young. I mean that story is so classic, it is a must know story when you were young. Well, I am sure even aliens will have the alien version of Hansel and Gretel!!!! I still cannot believe it!! I think I am going to bang their heads to the wall.

Yet they are the publisher for children story book in Malaysia! If you are the publisher for children story book, they have to at least know a few classic story books!! I do not mind if they do not know anything about the new stories in today’s world. But Hansel and Gretel is soooooo long time ago and it is a popular children story book!

Here goes the story of Hansel and Gretel

Long, long time ago, Hansel and Gretel are the children of a poor wood cutter. Their mother decided to abandon them in the wood because they do not have enough money or food to feed the extra two children. So, their mother convinces her husband to bring the children to the forest and abandon them. But Hansel and Gretel are smart, they have left some small stones to leave it as a trail to the way home. So, they found their way home. The second time, their father brings them to the forest again. This time they do not have small stones but leave the bead crumbs as a trail.

Unfortunately, the birds eat the bead crumbs and they cannot find their way home. As they are looking for their way home, they find a house made of cakes, candies, sweets and creams. So, they started to take a few bite of the cake house as they are hungry. Then the witch comes out from the house and invites them into the house. She cages Hansel and makes Gretel her servant. While she prepares to cook Hansel, she tells Gretel to climb into an oven to be sure it is ready to bake; but Gretel guesses that the witch intends to bake her, and tricks the witch into climbing into the oven, closing it behind her.

Hansel and Gretel take the jewels from the witch house and escape. They go back home and reunite with their father, and their mother has since died when they were lost in the forest. Then they live happily ever after.

NB: Do forgive me if I left out anything in this story, but this is all I can remember.

Yesterday morning when I woke up, I was feeling a bit sick and I have flu. So, I went out with Windi for lunch at around 1pm. Thanks Windi, for picking me up. Then we went to Joy Garden for out dim sum, we ate a lot of things. Hahaha… she said that later on she is going out to Freo for buffet with her friends coz one of them is having his birthday party there. Finally I bought my green tea with lychee jelly from Tea Fusion. Windi bought a large honeydew with aloe vera, I only bought a medium one as I am not feeling that well.

When I reached home, I fetl even worse!! I have runny nose, headache and a slight fever. But I have taken my medicine; I am still thinking whether I should take a nap now. Damn it!! How am I going to study?? Luckily I have bought an instant porridge last time, maybe tonight I can cook porridge and eat.
